As reported by Forklog, Poland's President Karol Nawrocki vetoed the 'Crypto-Asset Market Act,' stating its provisions threaten Polish citizens' freedoms, property, and state stability. Among the key concerns were the government's ability to block crypto-related websites, excessive regulation, and high supervisory fees that could disadvantage startups. The Sejm approved the law in late September, but industry supporters and politicians like Tomasz Mentzen had previously urged the veto. Finance Minister Andrzej Domański and Deputy Prime Minister Radosław Sikorski criticized the decision, arguing it would create chaos and endanger investors. Economist Krzysztof Pech noted the law would have had no real impact, as the EU's MiCA regulation will take effect in July 2026.
