Citing CryptoDnes, PNC Bank has begun offering a select group of wealth-management clients the ability to trade and custody Bitcoin directly within its private banking environment. The service, powered by Coinbase’s institutional infrastructure, allows clients to transact without leaving PNC’s platform or using third-party apps. The move, driven by client demand, marks a significant shift as a major U.S. bank now provides regulated Bitcoin access. PNC CEO William Demchak emphasized the bank’s responsibility to meet client needs, while Coinbase sees the partnership as a model for broader institutional adoption. The service is currently limited to high-net-worth individuals, with potential for expansion if the pilot proves successful.
