PANews, October 16: Pirate Chain has released an update on its investigation into the exploitation incident. On October 14, a transaction validation vulnerability was discovered in Pirate Chain’s source code, resulting in the unauthorized creation of approximately 39.8 million ARRR tokens, increasing the total token supply by about 20%. These newly generated tokens were immediately transferred into the Sapling privacy pool. Non-KYC platforms subsequently detected suspicious deposits, restricted associated accounts, and blocked withdrawals. The exploitation combined two failed validation checks: one bypassing the minting limit check, and another involving an incorrect parsing of the output script.

The exploit circumvented inflation controls and improperly leveraged output script parsing. New token listings remain under review as the community assesses the impact.
