Pirate Chain announced an on-chain update following a security breach on October 14, during which attackers exploited two verification vulnerabilities to mint 39.82 million fake ARRR tokens. The chain rolled back to block height 4,176,944, rejecting all blocks from the compromised period. The forged coins have been removed, and the maximum ARRR supply remains capped at 200 million. dPoW notaries have agreed to continue notarizing the corrected chain. All users and exchanges are urged to upgrade to v6.0.14 immediately.

On October 22, the official Pirate Chain X account (@PirateChain) announced the release of a mandatory update, v6.0.14. On October 14, attackers exploited two validation vulnerabilities to mint approximately 39.82 million forged ARRR tokens in the transparent coinbase pool, temporarily inflating the supply by about 20%. Following consensus among the community, node operators, mining pools, exchanges, and dPoW notaries, the chain has been rolled back to block height 4,176,944 (October 14, 19:55:14 UTC, prior to the attack).
v6.0.14 will automatically reject vulnerable blocks and all subsequent blocks; the forged coins have been completely eliminated, and ARRR’s maximum supply remains at 200 million. dPoW notaries have agreed to continue notarizing the corrected chain, and the old branch will no longer be notarized. The team requests that all users, Treasure Chest and CLI node operators, miners, mining pools, exchanges, and service providers immediately discontinue use of the old version and upgrade.
