Key Insights:
- PI rises 4% on Monday, extending its two-day recovery as the broader crypto market strengthens.
- Protocol V27 runs on Testnet 2 at 250 transactions per block with no recorded failures reported.
- PI coin stays below its 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day EMAs, keeping the broader technical structure bearish.
Pi Network price continued its recovery on Sept. 21 as the project advanced its Protocol V27 rollout. PI traded near $0.0894 during the latest session, up about 5.7% over 24 hours. Pi Network separately confirmed that its Mainnet blockchain protocol upgrade is underway and that Mainnet node operators need to move to v27.
The rebound comes alongside a broader crypto-market recovery. However, PI remains below several longer-term moving averages, leaving the wider technical trend weaker than the latest daily move suggests.
Pi Network Protocol V27 Mainnet Upgrade Is in Progress
Pi Network has moved Protocol V27 to Testnet 2 after earlier testing on Testnet 1. The protocol has stabilized at around 250 transactions per block without recorded failures during the reported test period. That performance gives developers another measure of network stability before wider deployment.
Pi Network moved to V27 after completing the Protocol 26 upgrade on Mainnet. The project then shifted Testnet toward Protocol 27 before Testnet 2 testing. This sequence separates protocol validation from the node migration now taking place across Mainnet.
The network is using Pi Node Docker V27.1.0 during this stage. Pi Network’s official Node page also says the Mainnet blockchain protocol upgrade is in progress. It requires every Mainnet node to upgrade to V27, showing that the transition has already reached network operators.
Protocol V27 focuses on stronger transaction authorization and infrastructure for future applications. The upgrade also gives developers more flexibility when building services that depend on authenticated transactions. Reports have linked the update with future decentralized exchange tools, though Pi Network has not announced a DEX launch date.
PI Price Recovers With Broader Crypto Market
PI coin price traded near $0.089 on September 21 after gaining more than 4% during the day. The move extended the token’s rebound from the previous session. Bitcoin also traded above $85,000, while broad crypto sentiment improved during the same period.

Market data showed heavy short liquidations as Bitcoin moved higher. About $688 million in total crypto liquidations occurred over 24 hours, including roughly $598 million in short positions. The Fear and Greed Index also rose to 77, reflecting stronger risk appetite across the market.
PI crypto still trades below several medium-term technical levels despite the rebound. The price remains below the 50-, 100-, and 200-day exponential moving averages. That structure keeps the wider trend under pressure even as short-term demand improves.
Pi Coin Price Prediction Tests $0.0924 Resistance
The latest Pi Coin price prediction centers on the 50-day EMA near $0.0924. A daily break above that level could place $0.0990 back in focus. That area marks the 50% Fibonacci retracement between the $0.1394 high and $0.0704 low.

If PI coin fails to clear $0.0924, traders could watch $0.0827 as the first nearby support. That level matches the 23.6% Fibonacci retracement. A deeper decline would shift attention toward the $0.0704 structural low.
Node operators face a different requirement. Mainnet node operators need to upgrade to V27 as Pi Network continues the protocol rollout. V27.1.0 images are already available for Docker-based server nodes. Operators should use the official instructions that match their node setup.
