Pi Network’s network activity has spiked as the PI token climbed nearly 10% to $0.09355, surpassing broader market gains. The surge aligns with the approaching Protocol v26 upgrade deadline on August 11, which all Mainnet node operators must complete. The upgrade aims to enhance contract safety, state management, and interoperability, improving network metrics for advanced decentralized apps. Network metrics also reflect a 132.76% rise in 24-hour trading volume to $17.56 million, with market cap above $1.03 billion. The RoboPay partnership, using AI agents and robots for Pi payments, has boosted bullish sentiment.

Pi Network’s native PI token has jumped nearly 10%, outperforming the broader crypto market. While most major cryptocurrencies saw only small gains, PI climbed to $0.09355, pushing its market capitalization above $1.03 billion.

At the same time, trading volume surged 132.76% to $17.56 million, showing strong buying activity and renewed investor interest.

Pi Network Face Protocol v26 Upgrade Deadline

The biggest reason behind today’s rally is the upcoming Protocol v26 upgrade deadline.

Pi Network has asked all Mainnet node operators to upgrade to Protocol v26 before Aug. 11. Nodes that fail to update risk being disconnected from the network.

The upgrade is an important step toward Protocol v27, bringing stronger smart contract security, better state management, improved cross-chain compatibility, and upgraded cryptographic features.

As the deadline approaches, many investors believe the network is moving closer to supporting more advanced decentralized applications, helping drive fresh buying interest.

RoboPay Partnership Adds Bullish Hope

Another factor supporting the rally is Pi Network’s growing payment ecosystem. Recent announcements around the RoboPay partnership have increased excitement, as the platform plans to use AI agents and autonomous robots to process Pi payments.

The initiative also includes:

  • One million ROBO tokens as rewards.
  • Twelve robotics companies joining the integration program.
  • Eight partners already listed.
  • Forty eight integration tasks scheduled before the Aug. 21 deadline.

The partnership has strengthened expectations that Pi could expand beyond speculation and find more real-world payment use cases.

Trading Volume Explodes

In addition to this, the strong price recovery was supported by heavy trading activity. PI’s 24-hour trading volume jumped more than 132% to $17.56 million, while its market capitalization climbed above $1.03 billion.

At the same time, technical indicators suggest buyers stepped in after Pi became heavily oversold.

Its Relative Strength Index (RSI) recently dropped to around 31.9, a level that often signals a possible recovery.

Can Pi Hold the Rally?

Despite the positive momentum, traders are watching several important risks.

According to Pi ScaPricen, nearly 127.5 million locked PI tokens are expected to enter circulation. Such a large token unlock could increase selling pressure if early holders decide to take profits.

Technically, Pi now needs to hold the $0.088 support level to keep the recovery intact. If buying continues, the next major resistance sits near the 38.2% Fibonacci retracement level around $0.10.

However, losing support could send the token back toward the recent low near $0.085.
