In accordance with TechFlow, on December 4, the Paraguayan Chamber of Deputies approved two resolutions requiring information on cryptocurrency mining activities. Proposed by Congresswoman María Constancia Benítez, the resolutions aim to enhance control, transparency, and regulation of the rapidly expanding mining industry. The resolutions mandate that relevant authorities submit reports within 15 days: the Ministry of Industry and Trade must provide information on registered Bitcoin and cryptocurrency miners, while the National Electric Energy Administration (ANDE) must list all authorized electricity connections for mining, including names and locations. According to Hashrate Index, Paraguay currently controls approximately 3.9% of global Bitcoin hashpower, ranking fourth globally after the U.S., Russia, and China. The country has become a popular destination for international miners due to its surplus hydropower.
