Digital threat detection company Overwatch completes $15 million Series A led by Mouro Capital. GoldNews reports that on October 26, New York-based digital threat detection startup Overwatch raised $15 million in Series A funding led by Mouro Capital, with participation from Visa Ventures and Capital One Ventures, as well as PruVen Capital, New Era Capital Partners, and Y Combinator. Founded in 2022 by Arjun Bisen and Zara Perumal, with Bisen serving as CEO, the company was established by a former Australian diplomat who helped shape the country’s cybersecurity strategy during the 2010s. Overwatch leverages AI agents and other technologies to help businesses scale their defense against digital threats, serving clients including Visa, Capital One, Cash App, SoFi, Stripe, and DoorDash. Bisen notes that AI has made cybercrime faster, cheaper, and more interconnected, citing Mastercard data indicating that the cost of a single attack is now under $3; he cited an example in which a single attacker launched over 100 attacks within five days, compromising 27 payment websites and stealing information from more than 600,000 credit cards.
