Overview Energy tested its technology in November, using a Cessna Caravan at 15,000 feet to beam near-infrared laser power to ground solar panels, producing several kilowatts. The company plans to scale the technology to low Earth orbit satellites for 24/7 power delivery. By using existing silicon panels, the system could boost utilization from 25% to nearly 100%. Challenges include weather effects and beam stability. Overview has raised $20 million and aims for satellite deployment by 2028.
