Codex Cloud now allows users to save a reusable cloud-based development environment for projects—including code repositories, dependencies, tools, and permission configurations—once, and reuse it repeatedly. Developers can directly launch tasks in the cloud, or hand off ongoing local Codex work to the cloud to continue. The cloud will use its own project workspace to modify code and run tests; once initiated, the task no longer depends on the local machine. Even if the computer goes to sleep, users can later check results from their desktop, web browser, or mobile device and sync changes back locally. The Codex CLI now includes voice control and a new /agents page, enabling users to distribute work among multiple Agents simultaneously. The desktop app also introduces Code Review, supporting GitHub PRs and GitLab Merge Requests, and can delegate the first round of code reviews to the cloud. Codex Security Cloud has enhanced its automated security checks, enabling continuous monitoring of new code commits or scheduled scans of entire GitHub repositories to identify vulnerabilities, eliminate duplicates, and prepare remediation plans.
