ChainThink reports that on August 16, OpenAI is preparing to enhance the long-conversation loading experience for ChatGPT and Codex, with the update expected to launch next week.
Internal testing shows that the average open time for a 741-round, 231MB conversation decreased from 27.62 seconds to 1.66 seconds, resulting in approximately a 94% improvement in loading speed. This optimization primarily targets chat history loading, not model response speed.
During testing, the number of dialogue entries to be loaded decreased from 15,529 to 64, and the number of requests dropped from 894 to 16, reducing in-app memory growth by 41.2%.
