The project is expected to create 35,000 construction jobs and generate 2,500 long-term operational jobs over its six-year construction period ending in 2032.

OpenAI will also invest $40 million in a community fund and provide a total of $84 million in Codex credits to approximately 844,000 college students in Ohio.

The project will employ a closed-loop air cooling system; SB Energy will be responsible for building, owning, and operating the data center, while OpenAI will use the computing power as a 20-year lease customer. The site will deploy NVIDIA AI computing infrastructure.
