On August 25, OpenAI Codex head Thibault Sottiaux announced a 5-hour usage cap for Plus members, affecting ChatGPT Work and Codex. Pro tiers at $100 and $200 remain unaffected for now. The change aims to manage computing demand and prevent users from exhausting their weekly quotas. Market watchers suggest the Fear & Greed Index may react to such shifts in AI accessibility. Traders are advised to monitor altcoins amid evolving dynamics in the technology sector.

ChainThink reports that on August 25, according to an official announcement, Thibault Sottiaux, head of OpenAI Codex, declared that Plus users will have their 5-hour usage limit reinstated, affecting both ChatGPT Work and Codex.

The $100 and $200 Pro tiers will not be restored and will remain unchanged for at least the next few months. The 5-hour limit was previously temporarily lifted.

Sottiaux explained that restoring the limits is primarily based on two considerations: distributing computational demand to avoid overwhelming loads from a large number of users simultaneously; and preventing Plus users from exhausting their entire weekly quota in one go.
