Built on GPT-6 Luna, the API is designed for questions with limited answers, enabling applications and agents to make near-real-time decisions based on text, images, and structured inputs. IT Home reported that its response speed is up to 10 times faster than calling GPT-6 Luna via the Responses API. Pricing is set at $0.10 per million input tokens, approximately RMB 0.67 at the current exchange rate; cached input tokens cost $0.01 per million tokens, approximately RMB 0.067. The API charges only for input tokens—output tokens are free. OpenAI states it is already using this API internally for products and business workflows. Post-public-preview additions include native GPT-Live integration, prompt caching for reused context, and data residency for the U.S. and EU. Developers can pass native JSON and include images directly in prompts, with a single request now supporting up to 400 questions—double the previous limit. OpenAI also continues to optimize latency and has expanded capacity across multiple regions in Asia.
