OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar revealed that enterprise revenue increased 32% month-over-month in July 2026, with annualized revenue up approximately 20%. Enterprise and consumer segments now each account for roughly half of revenue. An 80% price reduction for the Luna model drove a 10x surge in usage, with on-chain data showing strong demand for the low-cost offering. OpenAI also reported 25 million Codex users and is developing the Jalapeno chip using its own AI models, completing the design in nine months. On-chain analysis indicates growing adoption of AI in enterprise settings.

Odaily Planet Daily reports: OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar said the company is accelerating the expansion of AI into specialized fields such as chip design, life sciences, and financial services, and is experimenting with pricing based on business outcomes rather than usage volume. OpenAI’s enterprise revenue grew 32% from June to July this year, while the company’s overall annualized revenue increased by approximately 20% during the same period; as of mid-year, enterprise and consumer revenue contributions were roughly equal.

In addition, OpenAI recently reduced the pricing of its low-cost Luna model by 80%, leading to a tenfold increase in usage. Friar noted that, in cloud deployment scenarios, Luna’s cost is even lower than Z.ai’s GLM 5.3. The number of users for OpenAI’s programming tool Codex has now reached 25 million. The company also used its own AI models to assist in the development of the Jalapeno chip, completing the chip design and tape-out within nine months. (Reuters)
