OneKey founder Yishi announced new security measures following a recent security breach in the hardware wallet sector. The company confirmed that customer data—including names, emails, and shipping addresses—was deleted via the Shopify API. Data retention is now limited to 30 days. OneKey plans to migrate its e-commerce operations to its own infrastructure to reduce reliance on third parties. Inflation data remains a key concern for crypto investors, with security upgrades viewed as a response to escalating risks.

Odaily Planet Daily reports: Yishi, founder of OneKey, posted that following recent data breaches and supply chain attacks in the hardware wallet industry, OneKey is strengthening its existing security measures and emphasized that it has not experienced any security incidents—these actions are being proactively implemented in advance. OneKey has confirmed via Shopify API that customer personal information, including names, email addresses, and shipping addresses, from historical orders has been deleted, and customer data retention has been reduced to a maximum of 30 days. Returns, warranties, and device verification will now use methods that do not rely on long-term data storage. Retention policies of carriers such as FedEx and UPS are beyond OneKey’s control; with explicit customer consent, OneKey may separately retain privacy-processed email addresses solely for product updates and security patch notifications. OneKey’s long-term goal is to migrate its e-commerce operations to its own infrastructure, reducing dependence on third-party platforms like Shopify.
