ChainCatcher report, according to Jin10, NVIDIA (NVDA.O) announced it will invest $1 billion in South Korean internet and cloud service provider Naver to support its ongoing AI data center project in Korea. NVIDIA stated that this investment will more than triple the scale of Naver’s data center. The project is jointly developed by Naver and U.S. private equity firm Brookfield Group, and will be fully equipped with NVIDIA AI computing hardware. In addition, NVIDIA has partnered with the SK Group to build an AI data center cluster in Korea with a total computing power exceeding 2 gigawatts—roughly equivalent to the electricity demand of 1.5 million households. NVIDIA revealed that the first AI computing facility, constructed by SK Telecom, is scheduled to come online next year. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang said, “Korea is entering a golden era. The country’s semiconductor and industrial sectors are thriving, and it possesses the full capability to build AI infrastructure for the world.”
