ChainThink reports that on August 27, NVIDIA's stock rose 8.7%, marking its largest single-day gain since April 2025, increasing the company's market capitalization by approximately $442 billion—the second-largest single-day market cap gain in history for any individual stock.
NVIDIA's current market capitalization is approximately $5.5 trillion, making it still the world's most valuable publicly traded company. This increase in market value is second only to Microsoft’s record single-day gain of $450 billion less than a month ago, and exceeds the total market capitalization of the vast majority of stocks in the S&P 500 index.
NVIDIA once added $440 billion in a single day in April 2025 and lost nearly $600 billion in a single day due to market concerns over the DeepSeek model. The stock price increase was primarily driven by the company’s earnings guidance.
According to market data, NVIDIA expects revenue growth of approximately 70% in the next fiscal year, significantly higher than the market expectation of around 45%. J.P. Morgan believes this guidance may still be conservative, as NVIDIA has explicitly stated that its forecast is constrained by supply limitations, while underlying demand growth is even stronger.
