NVIDIA’s Open Security Alliance (OSAA) now has over 120 members within one week, including Adobe, BlackRock, Cisco, Intel, Microsoft, and Visa. At Black Hat in Las Vegas, the group launched the Shared AI Discovery Exchange (SAFE) and submitted public comment drafts through the Linux Foundation. Open-source tools such as NVIDIA’s Garak and Amazon’s Strands Agents are already active. Vulnerability reporting is central to the alliance’s mission, though major players like Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google remain absent despite their participation in the initial letter.

According to TechCrunch, just one week after its launch, the Open Security Alliance for AI (OSAA), spearheaded by NVIDIA, has grown to include over 120 member companies, including tech and financial giants such as Adobe, BlackRock, Cisco, Intel, Microsoft, and Visa. During the Black Hat cybersecurity conference in Las Vegas this week, the alliance established a working group called the Shared AI Findings Exchange (SAFE) and has already proposed several public comment initiatives managed by the Linux Foundation. The proposals cover confidential reporting mechanisms for AI cybersecurity incidents, alerting processes for affected parties, and a no-blame attribution analysis framework. Meanwhile, member companies are actively contributing open-source technologies: NVIDIA open-sourced the LLM vulnerability scanning tool Garak, Amazon contributed the agent-building tool Strands Agents and the authorization language Cedar, Okta advanced agent authentication technologies, and Red Hat progressed agent governance solutions. Notably, Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google have not yet joined the alliance, despite OpenAI and Google having previously co-signed the open letter that helped inspire its creation.
