NVIDIA's stock rebounded approximately 5% last week, reclaiming the $226 level. Market attention now focuses not only on whether the stock can rise further toward its May high, but also on whether the company’s recent increased investments in AI infrastructure and startup ventures will continue to drive up capital expenditures.
AWS partnership expands to 2 million GPUs
NVIDIA and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have announced an expanded partnership, planning to deploy 2 million NVIDIA GPUs within AWS infrastructure by 2028. This signifies that both parties continue to focus their collaboration on delivering large-scale AI computing power.
This arrangement strengthens NVIDIA's position in the cloud AI training and inference market and demonstrates that major cloud providers continue to increase their procurement and deployment of high-performance chips.
- Target deployment scale: 2 million GPU units
- Deployment Platform: AWS Infrastructure
- Timeline: Complete by 2028
Advance the enterprise model in collaboration with Equinix
In addition to cloud computing collaboration, NVIDIA has expanded its partnership with Equinix. The two companies have launched the new Equinix Inference Exchange, designed to help businesses move AI models from development into production environments.
The focus of this collaboration is not on training, but on inference. For enterprise customers, the ability to stably integrate models into business systems, control latency, and complete deployment has become a critical factor in the commercialization of AI.
Planning to participate in Murati's new funding round
Another notable development is NVIDIA’s planned investment in Thinking Machines Lab, a company founded by former OpenAI Chief Technology Officer Mira Murati.
Reports indicate that this investment, ranging from $2.5 to $3 billion, will form part of the company’s $5 to $6 billion funding round. At this valuation, Thinking Machines Lab is valued at over $40 billion, despite its annualized revenue just exceeding $100 million.
- NVIDIA plans to invest: $2.5 billion to $3 billion
- Total financing amount: $5 billion to $6 billion
- Company valuation: Over $40 billion
From a market perspective, NVIDIA’s dual strategy of expanding partnerships in computing infrastructure while increasing investments in cutting-edge AI startups demonstrates its simultaneous bets on both underlying supply and upper-layer application ecosystems. However, higher capital commitments have also drawn attention to the pace of investment and return efficiency.
