NVIDIA is reportedly in discussions to provide a credit guarantee for Nscale’s West Virginia data center, which will operate on NVIDIA chips and support Anthropic. Backed by billions in credit, the project aims to cover construction and energy expenses. Nscale, preparing for an IPO, faces skepticism regarding its $300 billion valuation. On-chain data indicates rising demand for cloud infrastructure, while inflation remains a key concern for investors. The neocloud sector has recently experienced volatility, with companies like Firmus Grid and Elice encountering difficulties. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has urged accelerated progress on the project.
CoinDesk reports:

IT Home, October 30 news, according to Bloomberg, sources familiar with the matter say NVIDIA is discussing providing a credit guarantee for a data center project by Nscale, which is planned to be used by Anthropic.

An anonymous individual said this credit support will guarantee the power and construction costs for an AI data center campus in West Virginia, where NVIDIA chips will be deployed. NVIDIA, the leading manufacturer in the AI processor market, has already invested in Nscale and several other AI computing service providers.

UK-based Nscale is accelerating the deployment of a series of large-scale data centers, with this site in West Virginia serving as its flagship location. The company is also preparing for an IPO, though some investors oppose its $30 billion (approximately RMB 200.3 billion at current exchange rates) valuation target.

The Information previously reported on negotiations between NVIDIA and Nscale, stating that the associated credit guarantees could reach billions of dollars.

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang said earlier this month that he had instructed the British company to work around the clock, overcome obstacles, and get some data centers operational as soon as possible.

Over the past few weeks, the broader environment for companies known as neoclouds—such as Nscale—that provide AI computing power has remained volatile. Firmus Grid, an Australian neocloud company also backed by NVIDIA, has abandoned its $30 billion IPO plan, while South Korea’s Elice struggled on its first day of trading.

Bloomberg News previously reported that Nscale also negotiated another $45 billion (approximately RMB 300.459 billion at current exchange rates) deal with Anthropic for a second building at the West Virginia campus.
