Beepro News: On November 2, the NFT project Robin Guards published a lengthy article titled “How Crypto Twitter KOLs Scam Projects (With Proof).” The project stated that it collaborated with approximately 200 KOLs, collectively amassing over 10 million followers, yet only sold 200 NFTs, resulting in a conversion rate of approximately 0.002%. After refusing to make further payments for promotional activities, the same individuals began labeling the project a scam. The article explicitly names multiple KOLs who had previously partnered with the project and demands explanations for their alleged behaviors, including purchasing fake engagement, posting content in engagement groups, and fabricating influence.
Robin Guards stated that the aforementioned KOLs initially posted positive promotions and encouraged their followers to participate; however, after learning that bot posts, interactive group boosts, similar AI-generated replies, and sudden spikes in views after posting would not result in payment, they then labeled the project a scam. The project also noted that the account "grebby" began accusing it of fraud the previous day, despite this account itself selling fake followers and fake engagement services—some of the named KOLs had previously purchased so-called smart followers and fake engagement from it. The project stated that screenshots have been included in the post and emphasized that it has been active in this space for two years and is also part of similar interactive groups.
Robin Guards stated that such accounts typically seek around $50 per post, and genuine influence does not require purchasing. The project advises other teams to examine the reach-to-impression ratio, check for duplicate reply accounts, and request actual conversion results from past campaigns rather than screenshots of views. Robin Guards previously described itself as the privacy layer of Robinhood Chain; its current bio states it is a project targeted by fake KOLs on Crypto Twitter.
