NJII, an entity of the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), is dedicated to accelerating innovation and advancing technology solutions for government and industry.
NJII stated that this significant milestone reflects its commitment to protecting controlled unclassified information (CUI) and maintaining stringent cybersecurity standards essential for supporting the U.S. Department of War (DoW) and the Defense Industrial Base (DIB).

CMMC Level 2 certification demonstrates that NJII has established and maintained cybersecurity practices aligned with the 110 security requirements listed in NIST Special Publication 800-171, ensuring the organization can effectively protect sensitive defense-related information against evolving cyber threats.
“Obtaining CMMC Level 2 certification reflects NJII’s unwavering commitment to cybersecurity excellence and our mission to support defense, government, and industry partners by delivering secure and trustworthy solutions,” said Jennifer D’Angelo, Interim President of NJII. “This achievement demonstrates our team’s dedication and further validates our ability to deliver innovative technologies and services that advance national security objectives while safeguarding sensitive information.”
NJII stated that as cyber threats become increasingly sophisticated, cybersecurity is essential for maintaining trust, ensuring operational resilience, and protecting the integrity of the defense supply chain. Achieving CMMC Level 2 certification further strengthens NJII’s position as a trusted partner, particularly for organizations operating in highly regulated and mission-critical environments.
“In today’s defense and technology landscape, cybersecurity is the foundation of innovation,” said Michael Grinaway, Senior Director of Information Technology at NJII. “This certification demonstrates NJII’s ability to meet stringent federal cybersecurity requirements while continuing to provide valuable support to government and industry partners.”
Advanced manufacturing can only accelerate with robust digital security; NJII’s CMMC Level 2 certification supports the fourth priority of the National Defense Strategy, which is to advance secure, scalable defense production by strengthening the defense industrial base,” said Thomas Murphy, Vice President of Defense Business at NJII.
