ChainThink reports that, according to Forbes on August 23, Josh Kushner, a potential buyer of the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers, saw his wealth nearly triple this year, primarily due to his early investments in tech companies such as OpenAI and SpaceX.
The assets under management at Thrive Capital, led by Kushner, have nearly doubled due to bets on the artificial intelligence wave.
As the founder of Thrive Capital, Kushner has earned substantial returns through investments in companies such as Instagram, Spotify, and OpenAI, becoming one of Silicon Valley’s most successful venture capitalists.
Currently, Kushner is working with former Disney CEO Bob Iger to prepare for the acquisition of the Lakers, with a transaction valuation of approximately $1.25 billion; if completed, it would become one of the most notable capital maneuvers in North American professional sports history.
