According to BlockBeats, on December 16, KuCoin trading platform reported that NASDAQ plans to submit a filing to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to launch a 24/7 stock trading service. NASDAQ intends to extend trading hours for stocks and ETP from the current five days a week, 16 hours per day, to 23 hours per day. The new '5X23' model includes a daytime session from 4:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with unchanged open and close bells, and a nighttime session from 9:00 PM to 4:00 AM. Transactions between 9:00 PM and 12:00 AM will be counted as part of the next day. The trading week will start at 9:00 PM Sunday and end at 8:00 PM Friday after the daytime session. The move could align with advanced trading features offered by global platforms.
