According to Bitcoin.com, Nasdaq International Securities Exchange (ISE) filed a request with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to increase the position limit for BlackRock Bitcoin ETF (IBIT) options from 250,000 to 1,000,000 contracts. The exchange stated that the increase would allow liquidity providers to offer more liquidity. IBIT currently has nearly 8 million open interest contracts, and the proposed change signals growing institutional demand for Bitcoin. The move also suggests the SEC may view Bitcoin derivatives as mature enough for larger trading volumes.
