BlockBeats report: On May 27, FTSE Russell announced the preliminary inclusion list for the latest Russell 3000 Index, which includes several cryptocurrency-related companies such as Sharplink, Forward Industries, Gemini, Galaxy Digital, and Bitmine.
Among them, Ethereum reserve company Bitmine and Galaxy Digital, with market capitalizations of approximately $5.7 billion and $11.55 billion respectively, have met the inclusion criteria for the Russell 1000 Index. If successfully included, both companies will join major U.S. tech stocks such as Nvidia, Microsoft, Apple, and Alphabet.
In addition, Sharplink, Forward Industries, and Gemini are expected to be added to the Russell 2000 Index. The market generally believes that inclusion in the Russell indices typically leads to increased allocation from ETFs and institutional passive funds, helping to enhance liquidity, expand the shareholder base, and strengthen capital market influence.
FTSE Russell will continue updating the list on June 5, 12, and 18, with the final adjustments expected to take effect officially after the close of U.S. markets on June 26.
