Portland, Oregon, USA, October 15 /PRNewswire/ — Semiconductor systems company Mueon Corporation today announced the completion of a $65 million Series A financing round aimed at building a new modular foundation for artificial intelligence and hyperscale computing. Maverick Silicon led the round, with participation from Intel Capital, Geodesic Alliances Fund, Oregon Venture Fund, M-Ventures, Wellington Capital, IQT, and Defined.
This new capital marks the next phase of growth for Mueon following its $15.5 million seed round in 2025 and emergence from stealth. To date, the company has raised over $80 million in total funding. Mueon plans to use these funds to expand its engineering and operations teams, advance Cubelets™ from platform development to broader system validation and production readiness, and deepen its growing customer partnerships.
“This funding enables us to bring the next generation of compute and storage system-level integration to market,” said Wilfred Gomes, Co-founder and CEO of Mueon Corporation. “Mueon’s architecture is designed to break through today’s rack-level limitations and deliver the density that the entire industry is only just beginning to plan for.”
Exponential computing platform for the era of system-level technology
The core architectural concept of Mueon is Cubelets™: modular, three-dimensional (3D) compute-and-storage building blocks. Rather than optimizing individual subsystems in isolation, Mueon was designed around data movement, power density, and deployment constraints—factors that are increasingly defining the economics of AI infrastructure. Cubelets™ enhance computational density at the system level, reduce the physical distance data must travel and the associated energy costs, while avoiding the massive footprint of traditional server rack scaling. This architecture treats packaging, interconnects, power delivery, and thermal management as primary design variables—not afterthoughts to be addressed separately—and extends beyond any single accelerator technology.
Since its seed round, Mueon has expanded the project into four execution tracks:
- Silicon and system architecture: Advancing the compute, storage, and interconnect architectures needed to scale Cubelets™ into a 3D system.
- Advanced integration: Develop packaging, power delivery, and cooling solutions required for higher computational density, rather than simply replicating rack-level complexity at a smaller scale.
- Software and system orchestration: Build a software layer that enables modular hardware to be used through familiar AI frameworks and deployment processes.
- Ecosystem Validation: Collaborate with technology, manufacturing, and industry partners to validate components, integration options, and the path from prototype to mass production.
“The Mueon team combines deep expertise in the key technologies of modern data centers with experience deploying these technologies at system scale,” said Manish Muthal, Senior Managing Director at Maverick Silcoin.
As part of this funding round, Manish Muthal will join Mueon’s board alongside Srini Ananth, Managing Director at Intel Capital.
“Mueon is fundamentally reimagining data center design,” said Srini Ananth, Managing Director at Intel Capital. “By integrating compute, storage, power delivery, and thermal management into a unified system, the team is creating a path to scale AI infrastructure with superior economics and efficiency—and this funding round reflects the engineering depth and ecosystem required to bring this vision to market.”
Why is this architecture important now?
Mueon aims to achieve up to 10 times greater power and cost efficiency within the same rack space, and plans to scale its architecture to megawatt-level densities as demand grows.
“Mueon’s Cubelets™ architecture creates new possibilities for partners like d-Matrix,” said Sudeep Bhoja, Co-founder and CTO of d-Matrix. “By combining in-memory computing with a modular system architecture, we can build smaller, higher-density, AI-optimized infrastructure that enables us to experiment, optimize, and deploy at new scales.”
“For years, large-scale data centers have been constrained by power and cooling limitations,” said Rohit Vidwans, Co-CEO of Ampere Computing, now part of SoftBank. “Mueon’s modular approach rethinks the physical building blocks of infrastructure. We are excited to collaborate with the Mueon team to de-risk this technology on the path to mass production.”
