Key Insights:
- MSTR stock delivered sharp upside from $92 to $138 in just 10 trading sessions.
- Strategy has significantly strengthened its balance sheet, with rising USD reserves bringing net leverage down to just 0.1%.
- Analysts remain divided on MSTR’s outlook, with Cantal Capital targeting $190 after the latest breakout.
The MicroStrategy (MSTR) stock has seen a strong run-up, surging 40% in August and crossing the $135 level. Besides, the company’s USD reserves have grown significantly, offsetting its entire debt. It seems Michael Saylor has pulled off a winner, despite the concerns of liquidation in June 2026.
MSTR Stock Gains 40% Outperforming Bitcoin
MicroStrategy (MSTR) stock price has delivered 40% gains on a monthly, all of which come in just the last 10 trading sessions. Despite not buying Bitcoin for over the past month and selling MSTR shares, Michael Saylor’s Strategy sees renewed institutional confidence.

Strategy’s MSTR stock has surged to $138.25, marking a 49.42% gain from $92.52 just nine days ago. The rally comes as Bitcoin trades slightly above $80,000, highlighting MSTR’s strong sensitivity to BTC price movements.
Investors are increasingly watching how Strategy could perform if Bitcoin enters a sustained rally toward $150,000-$300,000. Strategy has also undergone a major transformation in recent years. It has evolved from a traditional software firm to a major Bitcoin treasury firm.
Is MSTR Stock Seeing Short Recovery?
Market experts remain divided as of now on whether this rally represents a trend reversal or a short recovery. Bitcoin critic Peter Schiff said that the sharp rally in MSTR stock majorly represents a short recovery.
Despite the recent surge, Schiff maintained his “death spiral” thesis on Strategy (MSTR). He argued that this temporary Bitcoin rally may have only extended the company’s outlook rather than changed its long-term trajectory.
However, Metaplanet’s Bitcoin Strategist Dylan LeClair said that MicroStrategy has proved the critics wrong. “Remember the people who, all of ten weeks ago, were existentially questioning the entire bitcoin thesis, modeling MSTR total liquidation, and telling you macro capital was never coming back?” he wrote.
On the other hand, Strategy celebrated another milestone by offsetting its entire debt. This happened as the company has been raising its USD reserves, week after week. As a result of it, Strategy’s net leverage has dropped to just 0.1%.

MSTR Stock Targets: $190 and$570
Following the breakout at $135 on Thursday, August 27, Cantal Capital has raised the target for the MSTR stock. According to the firm, the stock price could see its next stop at $190.

While predicting the bull case scenario of MSTR back in July, analyst Mark Palmer has set a $570 price target for MicroStrategy (MSTR) by the end of 2026. The forecast assumes Bitcoin reaches $95,000.
