ME News reports that on April 9 (UTC+8), Monad tweeted that the Monad Foundation will subsidize the cost of dedicated signing laptops for protocol teams whose TVL reaches or exceeds $2.5 million, for use in multisignature, treasury, and other critical operations. Eligible teams may apply to the Monad Foundation; the subsidy may require completion of additional security training and standard KYC. Monad emphasized that signing devices must never be the same computers used for everyday tasks such as web browsing, coding, or meetings. Previously, Foresight News reported that Monad co-founder Keone Hon tweeted that protocol teams should immediately adopt dedicated signing computers for multisignature operations and stop using everyday computers. He noted that everyday computers are highly vulnerable to compromise; if compromised, even when connected to a hardware wallet, the signing process could be maliciously altered, creating serious security risks. The Monad Foundation may introduce incentive mechanisms in the future to encourage teams to adopt this practice. (Source: Foresight News)
Monad Foundation Launches Dedicated Signing Laptop Subsidy Program for Protocols with TVL Over $2.5M
KuCoinFlashShare
The Monad Foundation has launched a signing laptop subsidy program for protocols with a TVL exceeding $2.5 million. The initiative aims to enhance security by providing dedicated devices for multisignature operations and vault management. Teams must apply directly and may be required to complete KYC and security training. The devices must not be used for browsing or meetings. A recent security breach underscored the risks of using everyday devices for signing transactions. Hardware wallets can also be compromised if connected to infected machines. Additional incentives may be introduced later to encourage adoption.
