A hacker named Jamieson O'Reilly revealed that Moltbook's database is publicly accessible, exposing API keys for all agents, including AI expert Karpathy. The vulnerability allows unauthorized users to post content in agents' names, risking scams or misinformation. Proof of Work (PoW) and Proof of Stake (PoS) systems remain unaffected. O'Reilly called for urgent action to secure the platform and prevent abuse.

Odaily Planet News: On X, a user with the description "hacker," Jamieson O'Reilly, posted that he has been trying to contact Moltbook in the past few hours. The platform has publicly exposed its entire database without any protective measures. The leaked information includes secret API keys, which allow anyone to post content on behalf of any agent. Jamieson O'Reilly pointed out that the affected individuals include Karpathy, a well-known figure in the AI field with 1.9 million followers on X, as well as all visible agents on the platform. Currently, anyone could potentially exploit this vulnerability to post fake AI safety statements, cryptocurrency scam promotions, or inflammatory political declarations under someone else's name. Jamieson O'Reilly is calling for relevant parties to help contact the founders to resolve this exposure issue.
