ME News report, September 8 (UTC+8), Beating AI Quick News: FaceWall Intelligence, in collaboration with the OpenBMB open-source community, has officially open-sourced its next-generation "mini powerhouse," MiniCPM5-2B. This is a 2B-parameter text model designed for local devices such as smartphones and PCs, natively supporting up to approximately 128K context length. The model was first unveiled in July; this release includes the weights alongside the training data, training recipes, and RL framework. The weights are licensed under Apache 2.0. In an independent evaluation by Artificial Analysis, MiniCPM5-2B scored 15 points on the Intelligence Index v4.2, ranking first among all open-weight models under 4B parameters, surpassing the second-place Granite 4.2 3B, which scored 11 points.
