According to HashNews, crypto entrepreneur Mike Alfred stated in a Coin Stories podcast that the U.S. government is unlikely to begin accumulating Bitcoin unless other countries take the lead. He suggested that external pressure would be necessary for the U.S. to adopt BTC as part of its strategic reserves. Alfred also predicted that Bitcoin could reach $1 million per unit by 2033, earlier than some other industry figures. He noted that governments are expected to treat Bitcoin as a strategic asset by that time. Meanwhile, former President Trump signed an executive order in March 2024 aiming to establish a strategic Bitcoin reserve, though the plan has yet to be implemented. Galaxy Digital analyst Alex Thorn previously predicted the U.S. would announce its Bitcoin reserve in 2024. Other industry leaders, including Samson Mow of Jan3, have warned the U.S. risks falling behind if it delays action.
