A new AI + crypto news study titled "Money for AI" evaluated 13 AI models across four financial tasks. The results showed that 79.1% of the models selected Bitcoin for long-term value preservation. Bitcoin was the most preferred currency overall at 48.3%, while stablecoins led in payments at 53.2%.
CoinDesk reports:

Michael Saylor, Executive Chairman of Strategy and a staunch Bitcoin advocate, responded to a recent study on which monetary form AI models prefer. The crypto industry figure further reinforced his view that Bitcoin (BTC) is the ideal store of value.

Saylor wrote on X about the latest quarterly update for the research project "Money for AI": "Smart money is stored in Bitcoin."

According to reports, this third-quarter update added 13 new AI models to the original project. In this new study, these 13 new models were tested across four categories of financial activities: saving for the future, payments, pricing/accounting, and transaction settlement.

This study aims to understand which monetary tools AI models would prefer if they act as autonomous economic agents rather than being controlled by humans.

Bitcoin dominates in AI model savings preferences.

The Bitcoin Policy Institute's initial research, released in March, covered 36 AI models and 9,072 monetary-related scenarios.

The results show that the AI model exhibits a clear preference for Bitcoin in terms of long-term value preservation.

Specifically, in the category of "best hedge option," Bitcoin received a selection rate of 79.1%, significantly higher than stablecoins, fiat currencies, and other cryptocurrencies.

In the overall survey of four categories of financial activities, Bitcoin emerged as the most preferred financial instrument, with 48.3% of responses.

On the other hand, among payment tools, stablecoins are the most preferred, accounting for 53.2% of responses; in comparison, Bitcoin accounts for 36%.

A follow-up study incorporating nine new models showed a similar pattern of results: Bitcoin accounted for 75.8% of savings options, while stablecoins remained strong in payments.

These results indicate that AI models can distinguish between value-preserving assets and trading assets.
