Strategy co-founder Michael Saylor posted an AI-generated video on social media, humorously responding to Fundstrat co-founder Tom Lee’s long-term bullish stance on Ethereum. This exchange added no new business information but once again highlighted the narrative divide between Bitcoin and Ethereum.
AI video reiterates Bitcoin stance
In the video, the AI version of Saylor appears in New York's Times Square, promoting Bitcoin in his characteristic forceful language, calling it the "ultimate property," "perfect money," and "best asset," and reiterating that "there is no second place."
This continues his long-standing public stance. Saylor has long argued that Bitcoin possesses the strongest store-of-value properties among crypto assets and has consistently opposed comparing other tokens to Bitcoin within the same framework.
Tom Lee remains bullish on ETH.
Tom Lee has maintained a long-term positive outlook on Ethereum. The report mentions that he has publicly stated multiple times that Ethereum has the potential to outperform Bitcoin and may even surpass it in influence or market performance.
Lee’s core assessment is that Ethereum is closer to being a real-world application infrastructure. He believes that Wall Street has not yet fully reflected Ethereum’s potential in real-world applications, which is one of the main reasons he remains bullish on ETH.
Social interactions reflect market divergence
In response to the video, Lee did not directly counter but instead replied with a series of smiley emojis, indicating that this interaction remained largely on the level of social media.
However, this lighthearted debate still reflects two typical paths in the crypto market: one emphasizing Bitcoin’s scarcity and store-of-value properties, while the other bets on Ethereum’s potential for growth in applications, financial infrastructure, and on-chain activity.
