Japanese Bitcoin treasury firm Metaplanet is launching American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) under the ticker MPJPY to help investors gain easier access to its shares. The ADRs will trade on the U.S. over-the-counter market and are not linked to a capital raise. Deutsche Bank Trust Company Americas is the depositary, and MUFG Bank is the custodian. This follows Metaplanet’s earlier U.S. listing under MTPLF in late 2024 and its $15 million Miami-based subsidiary. The firm holds over 30,800 Bitcoin since April 2024 but paused buying in late September.
