Citing CryptoNinjas, Japanese public company Metaplanet has launched a ¥22.7 billion (USD 150 million) perpetual preferred share offering called MERCURY. The funds will be used entirely to expand the company’s Bitcoin holdings, reinforcing its Bitcoin-centric treasury strategy. The MERCURY shares offer a 4.9% fixed annual dividend and a ¥1,000 conversion price into common shares, aiming to attract long-term capital while providing investors with yield and potential equity upside.
