BlockBeats report, August 7: MetaMask has officially launched Agent Wallet, providing self-custodial AI agent wallets for traders and developers. Users can connect to agent frameworks such as Claude Code, Codex, and OpenClaw, allowing agents to execute on-chain operations within predefined rules.
Agent Wallet supports Hyperliquid, as well as EVM chains such as Robinhood Chain and Monad. The agent can also execute ERC-7821 batch swaps and single transactions without requiring native chain tokens to pay for gas; MetaMask can settle network fees from transferred assets.
Before supporting EVM transactions, MetaMask will provide transaction simulation, threat scanning, and MEV protection. Eligible transactions that result in losses after passing relevant security checks are eligible for up to $10,000 in transaction protection per month.
MetaMask states that the core of Agent Wallet is to enable AI agents to execute transactions within permission boundaries set by the user, rather than granting unrestricted access to the wallet.
