ChainCatcher report, according to Business Insider, Alexandr Wang, founder of Scale AI and current head of Meta’s Superintelligence Lab, said at a Y Combinator event that AI has significantly narrowed the gap in capabilities between startups and tech giants. Recalling the founding of Scale AI in 2016, he said, “Startups facing giants were like David versus Goliath—you had to be smarter about finding market entry points”; but with the advancement of AI agent technology, “it’s now more like Goliath versus Goliath”—if startups use AI agents in the most ambitious way possible, defeating established large corporations is not difficult. Wang’s company, Scale AI, was among the first data labeling firms, employing thousands of contractors worldwide to train models for major AI labs. In June last year, Meta reached a $14.3 billion deal with Scale AI, after which Wang joined Meta. Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, also stated at the same event that “there has never been a better time to start a company.”
