As reported by AMBCrypto, Maple Finance has proposed ending staking rewards for its SYRUP token and launching a buyback program to improve long-term value. The DeFi lending platform, which has grown its active loan book to $2.1 billion, argues that distributing revenue through staking is no longer sustainable. The Syrup Strategic Fund (SSF) will receive 25% of protocol revenue to fund buybacks and liquidity. Maple generated over $1 million in average monthly revenue in H2 2025, with $1.5 million in September. The proposal voting runs until October 31, and if passed, revenue sharing with stSYRUP holders will end by November.
