According to CryptoValleyJournal, major exchanges including Nasdaq and Deutsche Börse have urged the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to apply the same regulatory standards to crypto firms offering tokenized stocks as to traditional exchanges. In a letter, the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) warned that special exemptions for crypto platforms could undermine market integrity and investor protection. The WFE emphasized that tokenized equities must comply with existing securities rules, including custody frameworks and compliance processes, to ensure operational safety and transparency.
