Lugano, Switzerland has launched a new project accepting Bitcoin for McDonald's meals and local taxes. The city’s 'Plan ₿' initiative, backed by Tether, is building Bitcoin infrastructure for daily use. Merchants benefit from Lightning Network fees under 1%, lower than credit card rates. Residents can pay municipal fees, including taxes and tuition, via QR bills in Bitcoin or USDT. What is the goal? To integrate Bitcoin into everyday transactions.
