The Lisk Chain has officially been shut down, marking a major on-chain event for the project. User services such as Lisk Portal and Lisk Bridge were discontinued first, followed by on-chain components. Approximately 5.2 million LSK tokens held in the staking reward contract will be burned, reducing the total supply. This follows a previous burn of 10 million LSK in September. Lisk is now repositioning as an enterprise finance platform, with a network upgrade planned for 2027. LSK will remain on Ethereum as a loyalty token with a total supply of 300 million and zero inflation. Assets on the Lisk Chain may not be recoverable, with a manual claiming process scheduled for early 2027.

According to Huoxing Finance, on November 3, Lisk announced that its Ethereum Layer 2 network, Lisk Chain, was shut down on November 2. User-facing services such as Lisk Portal and Lisk Bridge were closed first, followed by the deactivation of remaining on-chain components. Approximately 5.2 million LSK tokens—previously unallocated or earned but unredeemed—remaining in the staking reward contract will be burned, further reducing the total supply. This follows the destruction of 100 million LSK in September. The company stated that the new Lisk will position itself as a modern enterprise financial platform offering features such as accounts, payments, approvals, and portfolio management, and is currently in its early stages. LSK will continue to exist on Ethereum as a Lisk loyalty token with a fixed total supply of 300 million and a 0% inflation rate; starting in 2027, enterprises will be able to earn and spend LSK on the Lisk platform. Assets remaining on Lisk Chain cannot be guaranteed for recovery, and the platform plans to launch a manual claim process in January 2027.
