Odaily Planet Daily reports that the Liquid Network has released an update on the attack incident: Emergency Elements v23.3.4 is now live; Functionary nodes have immediately begun upgrading, and all Liquid node operators are advised to synchronize and update promptly. This version fixes the previously identified Proof validation cache vulnerability by strengthening the cache keys used for Range Proofs.
Regarding network recovery, Blockstream states that a recovery plan is still being developed and is expected to proceed in three phases: **resume block production while continuing to pause Peg operations; replay verified and valid transactions; and resume Peg operations after the network state is fully restored and fund returns are confirmed.** Currently, the first two phases are being tested in parallel, and no phase will proceed until its safety has been confirmed.
The Liquid Network states that Elements v23.3.4 has undergone multiple rounds of internal and external reviews, involving teams such as Bitcoin Red Team and Alpen Labs. The Liquid Network also warns users to be cautious of fraudulent upgrade websites exploiting this event, and advises that information should only be obtained through official Liquid Network and Blockstream channels—never send funds to strangers or disclose private keys or seed phrases.
