The Linux Foundation today released a draft for comment of the Shared AI Threat Exchange (SAFE) guidelines. These are proposed principles designed to transform cybersecurity incidents occurring in the agent AI domain into shared defensive capabilities across the entire ecosystem. The SAFE guidelines are being drafted by the Open Security AI Alliance Working Group. Alliance members including NVIDIA, Cisco Systems, CrowdStrike, Hugging Face, and Red Hat are collaborating with the Linux Foundation to support the initial proposal. The SAFE guidelines include several recommended measures, such as: confidentially collecting and analyzing AI security incidents and "near-misses"; notifying affected parties; identifying recurring failures in security controls; and issuing evidence-based operational recommendations to reduce risk across the system.
