Lighter has launched a network upgrade on its EVM development network, built in partnership with Axiom. This EVM-equivalent Rollup, based on OpenVM, operates alongside Lighter Core and uses a single ZK proof to settle on Ethereum. Developers can now use Foundry, Hardhat, Viem, and Ethers to directly manage accounts, balances, positions, and orders. On-chain updates show the network enables asset transfers between the development L1, Lighter Core, and Lighter EVM. Access is currently available via email application, with full access coming soon.

Odaily Planet Daily reports that the decentralized perpetual contracts trading platform Lighter has announced the launch of its EVM development network. Built in collaboration with Axiom, this network is an EVM-equivalent Rollup based on OpenVM, running in parallel with Lighter Core, with both parties planning to settle jointly to Ethereum via a single zero-knowledge proof (ZK Proof).

Developers can use tools such as Foundry, Hardhat, Viem, and Ethers to deploy smart contracts, read account, balance, position, order, and market data on Lighter Core, and directly create, modify, and cancel orders via smart contracts. Additionally, the network supports asset transfers between the development network L1, Lighter Core, and Lighter EVM.

Currently, development teams can apply for access via email, and Lighter will grant access in batches, with plans to open access to all developers in the coming weeks.
