ME News reports that on November 4 (UTC+8), contributors to the Node Operator Mechanism (NOM) working group initiated a proposal on the governance forum, suggesting an update to Lido’s MEV policy in response to Ethereum’s upcoming native Proposer-Builder Separation (ePBS) upgrade. The proposal introduces a two-track mechanism: first, an open, permissionless market where Lido validators may accept bids from any builder meeting Ethereum protocol requirements, provided payments are guaranteed by the protocol; second, a curated market requiring builders and intermediaries offering additional payments beyond protocol guarantees to be added to Lido’s Allowed List, subject to review by the Curated Modules Committee (CMC).
The proposal requires all Lido validators to remain open to receiving p2p bids, with all rewards directed to the Lido EL Rewards Vault. Nodes will be flagged for investigation if operators build their own blocks despite the presence of external bids higher than the minimum, or if their selected bid is below 90%–95% of the highest qualified bid detected. This policy applies universally to all node operators. The proposal and transition plan will be voted on in November but will only take effect after the Glamsterdam upgrade is completed on Ethereum mainnet. (Source: Foresight News)
Lido Proposes MEV Policy Update for ePBS with Trustless and Whitelist Dual Mechanism
KuCoinFlashShare
Lido’s Node Operator Mechanism group proposed a protocol update to its MEV policy ahead of Ethereum’s ePBS transition. The plan includes a trustless market and a whitelist system managed by the Curated Module Committee. Validators must accept p2p bids and send rewards to Lido’s EL Rewards Vault. Violations such as self-mining or selecting low bids will trigger investigations. The crypto market update will be voted on in November, with activation pending the Glamsterdam upgrade.
