BlockBeats report: On June 26, Lenovo issued a warning at the ISC 2026 conference that DRAM and NAND flash prices have entered a structural upward cycle; even as major manufacturers continue to expand production, prices are unlikely to return to early 2025 levels, and the price increase will ultimately become the "new normal" from 2030 onward.
During the conference presentation, Lenovo displayed price trend charts for DRAM and NAND products. According to its analysis, despite major memory manufacturers such as Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron accelerating new capacity expansions, the increased production is unlikely to close the supply-demand gap, leading to expectations of sustained high prices. Meanwhile, Micron has publicly stated that it cannot meet market demand, including from strategic customers, and Samsung and SK Hynix have issued similar signals, indicating that the supply shortage is unlikely to ease in the short term.
This judgment has far-reaching implications for the entire consumer electronics supply chain. Lenovo warns that high memory costs will be passed down to PCs, gaming consoles, smartphones, and all end products equipped with memory or solid-state drives, subjecting consumers to sustained price increases over the next decade.
According to data presented by Lenovo at ISC 2026, this rapid increase in memory prices began in late Q3 to early Q4 2025. At that time, DRAM and NAND prices began to deviate from their previous cyclical ranges and accelerated upward to levels far beyond what the market had anticipated.
