ETH news: The attacker linked to the Ledger hardware wallet breach has deposited 2,990.3 ETH (approximately $7.45 million) into Tornado Cash. The funds were previously sent to 14 addresses and transferred to ZEC via NEAR Intents. Some withdrawals reused old deposit addresses, while others originated from wallets connected to the gas payment address used in the theft. ETH update: The attacker is still actively moving and concealing the funds. Ledger states it is investigating and urges users to verify their device security.

Odaily Planet Daily reports that on-chain detective Specter posted on their personal channel that, between October 9 and 10, the attacker address linked to the CryptoBilis Ledger hardware wallet incident deposited 2,990.3 ETH into Tornado Cash, worth approximately $7.45 million.

Monitoring shows that the attacker previously withdrew funds to 14 addresses, then cross-chain transferred them to ZEC via NEAR Intents and performed privacy-enhancing operations. Specter noted that the attacker reused some previous deposit addresses to submit withdrawal transactions, while other withdrawal transactions were initiated by wallets associated with the addresses that paid the gas fees during the theft, thereby linking the funds to the withdrawal activities.

The attacker is currently still transferring and concealing the related funds. Previously, the CryptoBilis incident involved supply chain risks associated with Ledger hardware wallets; Ledger has stated that it is investigating and has reminded affected users to monitor their device security.
