New York and London, November 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Lazard, Inc. (NYSE: LAZ) today announced the completion of its acquisition of Campbell Lutyens and the official launch of Lazard CL, a leading global private capital advisory firm. The transaction, initially announced on April 30, 2026, brings together Lazard’s private capital advisory business with the premier bankers and global capabilities of Campbell Lutyens.
Lazard stated that the establishment of Lazard CL is a milestone in the "Lazard 2030" strategy, aimed at achieving long-term, profitable growth, expanding client-facing solutions, and further diversifying the company's revenue sources.
Peter Orszag, CEO and Chairman of Lazard, said: “We are thrilled to launch our third global business, Lazard CL. By combining our global leadership in primary capital raising and secondary advisory with our premier expertise in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, and restructuring, we have strengthened the synergy among our advisory businesses and enhanced our coverage in large-scale strategic transactions and private capital raises. Campbell Lutyens is an exceptional firm with outstanding talent and a culture very aligned with ours—business-driven, collaborative, and client-focused—I am delighted to welcome the team to Lazard.”
Lazard CL brings together complementary platforms and delivers decades of service experience to its clients. With over 300 advisory professionals and 19 global offices, the firm has advised on approximately 1,300 mandates over the past 40 years, providing guidance on primary capital raises and secondary transactions totaling over $1 trillion. As competition in capital raising intensifies and liquidity solutions grow increasingly complex, institutional investors, financial sponsors, and their portfolio companies require independent, differentiated advisory services spanning the entire private capital lifecycle. Lazard CL is uniquely positioned to meet this need through its global distribution network, deep expertise, and proven track record of execution.
- A platform with diverse solutions: Offering a comprehensive suite of services covering fund raising, primary capital raising, secondary advisory, and general partner (GP) capital advisory throughout the entire private capital lifecycle—from fundraising to liquidity and strategic alternatives. Lazard CL is expanding its global distribution capabilities through a dedicated team of more than 60 LP sales specialists, connecting approximately 4,000 institutional investors with attractive investment opportunities and liquidity solutions.
- Extensive coverage of asset classes and trading expertise: Professional experience across all major asset classes—including private equity, private credit, infrastructure, and real estate—as well as in leading financial centers such as North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
- Differentiated data advantage: A proprietary dataset built over the past 15 years, currently comprising approximately 100,000 investor sentiment data points and 20,000 fund price data points. Combined with Lazard’s leading artificial intelligence capabilities, these data assets enable clients to achieve more accurate valuation, positioning, and investor outreach.
- Independent advisory: A specialized firm established exclusively for private capital clients. Operating independently while leveraging Lazard’s global brand and infrastructure, Lazard CL provides independent, objective, and confidential advisory services throughout every stage of the private equity cycle—from initial capital raising to GP capital advisory.
Gordon Bajnai, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Lazard CL, said: “Today, Lazard CL begins operations as the world’s largest integrated private capital advisory platform. Campbell Lutyens built, over 38 years, an independent, entrepreneurial business—and that client-centric spirit is now embodied in our new firm. Combined with Lazard’s strength in financial advisory, Lazard CL offers clients a global reach and presence that is rare in the industry.”
Holcombe Green, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Lazard CL, said: “Lazard CL represents the next phase of everything we’ve built over the past five years in private capital advisory—during which the firm more than tripled its revenue and expanded its global footprint. This transaction complements our leading capabilities in private equity and real estate with strengthened leadership in infrastructure and private credit, bringing together team expertise to create the most comprehensive private capital advisory firm.”
As stated by the company at the time of the acquisition announcement on April 30, 2026, the upfront payment upon closing of the transaction was primarily made in Lazard stock, with a portion of the shares subject to a lock-up period of up to three years. This strengthened Lazard’s balance sheet and aligned the interests of the combined team with the company’s long-term value creation. As Lazard outlined during its third-quarter and first-nine-months 2026 earnings call, the performance of the Campbell Lutyens business has exceeded the assumptions made at the time of acquisition. Lazard still expects Lazard CL to generate approximately $500 million in total revenue in 2027 and to have a positive impact on profitability prior to any revenue or expense synergies.
